How I ended up here

I was writing code and building infrastructure long before "cloud" became a verb. Over 20 years across the whole stack: from debugging production at 2 am to presenting strategies to boards and CEOs.

In 2011 I got fired. The best thing that ever happened to me, even if I didn't see it right away. I went freelance, co-founded Effihub (SaaS), built the company with the other founders to more than 100 paying customers and sold it in 2025.

Along the way I discovered that every technical disaster I had ever seen had the same two root causes: a lack of knowledge, skills or experience, and people who couldn't communicate with each other. I got DISC D3 certified. Now I solve that problem too.

Based in Copenhagen, born in Poland. Climbed Kilimanjaro. Cooks with heart. Collects signed vinyl records and espresso cups. Uses 4 languages every day. Authentic to the bone, but luckily that doesn't mean you have to be embarrassed when I'm around.

Skills are the engine. Ownership is the fuel.

What I work with

A generalist by nature and an expert in many areas. I connect the dots across disciplines, and when needed, I learn new things very fast.

Development

PHP, JS/Vue/Node, Python, MVC frameworks, SQL. Everything around web applications, infrastructure and hardware close to the metal. Impossible upgrades (strangler pattern), maintenance and upgrades of legacy software.

Infrastructure

Linux, cloud (DO, AWS, OVH), Cloudflare/Imperva, databases, web, proxy, high availability, failover, bare metal, serverless, horizontal and vertical scaling.

DevOps

SaltStack, Docker, CI/CD, monitoring, security hardening, zero-downtime deployment, backup, recovery and compliance.

DISC D3

Translating between tech and business: asking better questions and being able to communicate with everyone in a company.

Qualifications

I knew from day one that I wanted a career in IT.

MSc, Technical University of Denmark (DTU)

2006-2008. Master's thesis: "Secure web services in resource-constrained systems". Taught entirely in English.

BSc, Copenhagen University College of Engineering (IHK)

2005-2006. "2D FFT in image processing: measurements, implementation, parallelisation and computer architecture". Financial award for good results.

Silesian University of Technology, Poland

2002-2005. 5 semesters, before I moved to Denmark on a Socrates scholarship.

DISC D3 trainer

Certificate ID: 1/2024. Certified to teach and run DISC assessments for technical teams and organisations.

DISC D3 consultant

Certificate ID: 566/2023. Certified DISC consultant in behavioural assessment.

What I don't do

  • Manage your developers' daily work
  • Invent problems to sell solutions
  • Promise to "fix everything"
  • Work with toxic people (life is too short for that)
  • Take your IT consultant's or IT team's place at any cost
